The Skills Formation Program is designed under a project-based learning curriculum and combines various coaching techniques, which facilitate skills transfer. The relationships fostered include those between high school students and young professionals, both locally and in global diasporas. We strongly believe that such network building can help to spur community-based youth-led development efforts.
MOVAAR's mission is to help enlarge opportunities for self and community improvement. We do so by placing youth at the center of our programs and building upon their capabilities through educational training and activities.
Such activities encourage local leadership, and grassroots entrepreneurship as well as small enterprise development. The 12-week (52 hours) S.F.P. program embodies this effort and forms the core of our other programs. Throughout the course of the program young students develop solution proposals to development challenges they identified in their communities. After a successful pilot and first cycle of the program, MOVAAR will now launch the second edition of the Skills Formation Program aspiring to expand it to rural Gambia and other parts of Sub-Saharan Africa.
